An important part of pastures and stables that horses will be in is the horse gates. They are very necessary because it will be difficult when there is only a small opening to bring them through especially if they are a nervous horse or one that likes to act up. This is especially nice when trying to break a horse.

A gate can be several different colors. Many of them are made from steel but not all of them. They are quite common though. They will be more durable than wooden ones and can withstand more abuse. A wooden one is quite easily made by someone who is handy with woodworking or building.

Some of them are going to have a longer length than others. The ones that are going into the barn stalls are going to be a lot shorter because there is not a lot of room for them to be very big. The ones going into a pasture is going to need to be longer. This is nice especially if there is a horse that is acting up.

The latches for them are going to be different for each one too. They are smart animals which means that they may be able to open up some of these latches. This is why a lot of them will get out of the fences. Some can be as simple as pushing a pin through something but others may require a lot more effort to latch them. It can be frustrating when horses are constantly escaping.

Untrained animals are not very easy to capture when they get loose. Even trained animals will be happy to get out. Sometimes by running some electric fencing across, it can stop them but not always. Some may go right through them whether they are getting shocked or not. Some farmers have several of these gates for their animals.

Not everybody is using this type of horse fence for an animal pasture though. Some people will use them to place at the end of their driveway to keep people out that do not belong in there. Other people may put them on a fenced in hay field so that they are able to fit their tractor through. Two of them can be put together so that the opening can be twice as large.

One thing that is nice about these is that they can also be painted to be any color. They can be repainted to match the rest of the environment if needed also. If the color that you would like is unavailable, another color can be applied so that it does match your color.

There are several stores that are going to carry this type of item. The best places to look for them would be at a farm store or a lumber company. The farm stores sell them because it goes right along with their other items. Lumber companies have them because people are going to go there to get the fence posts and other things that they need when they are building. Horse gates are used on small farms as well as larger ones too.
