Your Pet Dog Needs A Dog Bed

by Carlos White

For years, we knew for a fact that our 135 pound Newfoundland slept on the bed - or the couch - while we were gone, so we bought him a memory foam bed and now we don't have that problem any more! This bed works just like the memory foam mattresses that we two-legged creatures sleep on. Therefore, your dog enjoys the same benefits of support that we do, especially if you have an old dog suffering with joint problems. We placed his bed at the foot of our bed under the ceiling fan. We often find him, lying on his back and his fur gently swaying through the breeze, in a state of dreaming. He is one satisfied dog!! He is one pleased dog!

Since he is not getting any younger, we try to keep him happy, fit and healthy so that he can live longer and still be with us for long.BooBoo, as we so affectionately call him, is a most precious part of our lives, and we do spoil him, but not to the extent to be detrimental to his health. He has limitations on food, so we monitor his intake. Even the treats we serve him is healthy. He tends to engulf his food in a hurry, as most animals do. He consumes his food in just a matter of seconds.

When he drinks his water, and he drinks a lot, he just hurriedly drink it as well. Research studies indicated that swallowing food in mouthfuls can cause many problems such as acid reflux, overeating tendencies, irregular eating, obstruction of the digestive tract, gagging, queasiness and other digestive problems. So we found these really cool water and food dishes that regulate and slow down eating and drinking (maybe someone should invent something like this for us humans, too. We eat and drink entirely too fast and could use something to make us slow down!)

I don't know if you are familiar with the breed, Newfoundland, but they have a very thick coat of fur and a large amount of oily dander. They are rescue dogs in the icy waters of Newfoundland so they need quite a bit of protection and insulation against the cold. These dogs aren't used to the heat, so they feel uncomfortable during the summer.

A lot of hair falls out from his fur. His fur secretes a particular smell.During the winter months he really begins to smell. His coat takes a while to get dry that is why we don't like to bathe him during winter. Therefore we had to use other methods of making and keeping him fresh. And find it we did.We came across an amazing brush that uses negative ions without water or chemicals to clean and remove odor, and it even untangles matted fur. BooBoo now feels fresh and clean all the time, in summer and in winter. Everyone is happy.

We certainly spoil our pets. Yet, they give us so much in return. A lot of exercise, healthy diet, adequate rest and most particularly loads of love yields a fit and happy dog.
